My Practice

Welcome to a place where you have the space to heal. I believe touch is essential for all humans and is vital for longevity and overall health. I created my practice with the intention to listen and advocate for clients to be an active participant in their care. Whether its an adjustment in pressure or noting a change in sensitivity, I empower clients to speak up, explore, and deepen their mind body connection.

What is Therapeutic Massage?

Healing is individual and unique. Massage Therapy offers an opportunity to explore a different pathway to achieving your goals of living with less pain, improved mobility, reduced stress and more joy. Therapeutic Massage is a modality based in assessment to address common musculoskeletal problems and injuries. It provides measurable progress and improved outcomes following treatment.

Combining Swedish and Deep Tissue massage with trigger point and myofascial therapies, each session provides a therapeutic experience for the client. Backed by evidence based techniques and clinical knowledge the practice of therapeutic massage is in-depth, specific and effective at treating chronic and acute injuries.

Benefits of massage therapy

 Physical Health Benefits

  • Pain Reduction: Massage can significantly relieve acute, chronic, and joint pain associated with conditions like low-back pain, fibromyalgia, arthritis, sciatica, and headaches/migraines.

  • Muscle Relaxation and Flexibility: Techniques used in massage help decrease muscle stiffness, tension, and soreness, while also improving tissue elasticity, flexibility, and range of motion in joints.

  • Improved Circulation: Massage increases blood flow and lymphatic drainage, delivering essential oxygen and nutrients to muscles and tissues, and helping to remove metabolic waste products.

  • Injury and Surgical Rehabilitation: By promoting better blood flow and breaking up scar tissue, massage can accelerate the healing process after injuries or surgery, and reduce post-operative pain.

  • Enhanced Athletic Performance: For athletes or active individuals, massage can improve muscle productivity, reduce injury risk, and speed up recovery time between workouts.

  • Boosted Immune Function: Regular massage sessions have been shown to increase the body's white blood cell count and "natural killer T cells," which are vital for fighting off illness and disease.

Mental and Emotional Health Benefits

  • Stress and Anxiety Reduction: Massage is highly effective at lowering levels of the stress hormone cortisol, while simultaneously stimulating the release of mood-enhancing neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine.

  • Improved Relaxation and Mood: The calming environment and physical touch promote deep relaxation, a more positive mental outlook, increased energy levels, and a general sense of wellness.

  • Better Sleep Quality: By promoting relaxation and reducing pain and anxiety, massage can help regulate sleep patterns and is a beneficial option for those suffering from insomnia or irregular sleep.

  • Sharpened Focus: By calming the nervous system, massage can lead to improved mental clarity, focus, and attention.

Massage is a versatile and important tool in a comprehensive approach to health and well-being, often used in conjunction with standard medical treatments for a wide range of conditions.
